Canopy Spraying of Abscisic Acid to Improve Fruit Quality of Different Sweet Cherry Cultivars
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abscisic acid (ABA) plays a major role in promoting ripening sweet cherry, non-climacteric fruit. Exogenous application of ABA has been performed to study fruit and cracking, but this growth regulator is not used for commercial production. To determine the potential improve cherry quality, canopy spraying was assayed four cultivars. Canopy S-ABA significantly: (1) enhanced color ‘Glenred’, ‘Lapins’ ‘Bing’ cultivars, ‘Royal Rainier’ (a bi-colored cultivar), (2) decreased size firmness ‘Lapins’, Rainier’. Seasonally reproducible effects were seen (mid/late-maturing) ‘Glenred’ (early-maturing). nordihydroguaiaretic (NDGA) increased ‘Glenred’. Direct on fruits attached tree, without foliage, reducing size. These results suggest localized response exogenous development, that decrease may be due tree foliage.

To elucidate metabolism of ascorbic acid (AsA) in sweet cherry fruit (Prunus avium 'Hongdeng'), we quantified AsA concentration, cloned sequences involved in AsA metabolism and investigated their mRNA expression levels, and determined the activity levels of selected enzymes during fruit development and maturation. We found that AsA concentration was highest at the petal-fall period (0 days afte...

Fertigation of Deciduous Fruit Trees: Apple and Sweet Cherry
Nutrient uptake by trees is determined by root interception, soil availability, and tree demand. Fruit trees have low rooting density, especially in the case of dwarfing rootstocks. Mobility in the soil is a key factor in determining nutrient availability, and good management of nutrients requires that supply is matched to demand, in terms of amount, timing and retention in the root-zone, and t...
